Currently hiring Special Education Teachers
Special Education Teacher Responsibilities include:
Work collaboratively with your team of experts (SLP, OT, Behavior Coordinator, Paraprofessionals, Curriculum Coordinator, Sensory Coordinator, etc.) to coordinate the best services and programs for each student
Plan room arrangement and learning centers for a highly structured classroom (no more than 7 students)
Develop lesson plans using assigned curriculums for each class/activity being taught
Assess individual students and class needs as a whole
Write designated sections of the ETR and IEP for assigned students
Implement services consistent with the Individualized Education Plan
Participate in Behavior Meetings and Behavior Intervention Plans written and modeled by Behavior Coordinator
Document and collect data, as needed, for goals, objectives, and behavior plans.
Evaluate and report student progress.
Implement an established communication system with families, which effectively keeps parents aware of classroom activities and student progress.
Meet with parents, as needed, and initiate conferences with parents concerning student progress
Have a growth mindset; be willing to learn what you don’t know you don’t know!
