Title: Attorney

FLSA Status: Exempt

Direct Report: Tanya F. Eriksson Wood

Linebarger Law firm is currently seeking an onsite Attorney in the Conroe office. The Conroe Attorney represents tax clients in the Montgomery County area in legal matters. Additionally, the Attorney is responsible for managing the collections program and the Conroe office staff. This position requires some travel to clients, court and conferences.

Job Overview:

The primary purpose of this position is to: Represent tax clients in the Montgomery County area in legal matters, direct collection activities/programs and manage Conroe office staff.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Must have a valid driver license, reliable vehicle and insurance.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to the Firm’s Conroe office tax clients.
  • Representation includes trial and appellate work.
  • Direct collection campaigns/programs & report performance to the Firm’s Conroe office tax clients.
  • Travel to and attend court dockets.
  • Travel to and visit clients and elected officials on a regular basis.
  • Travel to and attend conferences and entertain clients.
  • Coordinate presentation of Firm proposals for new clients and renewals.
  • Market Firm resources to potential clients in the field.
  • Travel to and attend client meetings and client related events and activities (both political and charitable).
  • Build new and maintain existing relationships with officials, administrators and boards.
  • Substantive and periodic analysis and knowledge of delinquent tax roll.
  • Substantive and periodic analysis and knowledge of collection reports.
  • Substantive and periodic analysis and knowledge of litigation files, including title work, address research, pleadings, and post-judgment events.
  • Determination and substantive analysis of office and staff performance measures.
  • Travel to, attend, and conduct tax sales.
  • Periodic reporting of collection activities, performance and staff performance to managing attorney.
  • Assist with any and all collection activities to ensure proper and efficient execution of collection program.
  • Prepare annual budget with assistance of Director of Operations and monitor budget throughout fiscal year.
  • May be assigned additional duties within the scope of practice.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Periods of sitting while doing office work, driving to clients, events, court, delinquent tax property locations.
  • Position requires working primarily out of the Firm’s Conroe Office.
