DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts screenings, informal assessment, and/or comprehensive standardized assessment of student skills relating to OT school-based needs to determine strengths and needs and formulate individualized education plans
- Participates in IEP meetings
- Delivers targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention through direct and indirect services
- Provides adaptive equipment and/or devices to the students as needed
- Develops and oversees student sensory protocols and feeding protocols, as appropriate
- Works in an interdisciplinary team and collaborates with parents/families, other professionals, and school personnel
- Adheres to student IEPs and associated documents (e.g. behavior intervention plans, communication protocols, etc.)
- Monitors and documents treatment and student progress according to state and federal regulations consistent with Medicaid requirements for reimbursement
- Completes all daily service logs, progress reports, and IEP documents within a timely manner according to facility, state, and federal guidelines
- Stays informed about latest evidence-based practices in the field of occupational therapy
- Maintains licensure and certification
- Adheres to AOTA code of ethics
- Supervises graduate students as able and needed
- Provides in-services to staff and family regarding various aspects of the field
- Adheres to Linwood School policies and procedures
