Responsibilities of Teacher:

• Provide a safe learning environment for children
• Ensure classroom is ready for children before arrival
• Prepare weekly lesson plans
• Observe and assess children weekly
• Meet the needs of children
• Individualized lesson plans for children
• Participate in all training that is provided
• Create weekly/daily documentations of children for children's files
• Be knowledgeable of Center policies and procedures
• Dress appropriately
• Be respectful of each other
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, children, families and potential clients
• Report to work on time
• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
• Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
• Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Education and work experience:

• Associate/ Bachelor degree in early childhood education or high school diploma
• At Least 540 documented hours of experience working with unrelated children in a child care setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, children, families and potential clients

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform all essential job functions
• Ability to lift children weighing up to 40lbs
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
• We are all mandated reporters

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
