Little Beginnings Learning Center in Hastings, MN is a Christian, nature-based center, and is looking for some new team members! We are seeking:

Full-Time and Part-Time Assistant Teachers and Teachers!

Our work family needs a few more members. We are looking for assistant teachers and teacher-qualified people to help throughout our center. This position would be an important person to get to teach and play in various classrooms and fill in for staff who are out on vacation, sick, etc.

Job Description for Full-Time and Part-Time Floating Assistant

• Create a safe environment designed to promote all areas of development
• Work cooperatively to implement classroom activities and curriculum
• Manage classroom and lead transitions from one activity to another
• Guide children through interactions and foster children’s use of language and conflict mediation skills
• Engage/supervise developmentally appropriate activities inside and outside, participate in children’s play, and foster creative use of materials

Job Requirements for Full-Time and Part-Time Floating Assistant/Lead Teacher: At least one year of teaching experience is strongly preferred

• First Aid, CPR, and SIDS/Shaken baby training or willingness to be trained
• Knowledge of teaching and activity methods used with preschool or early elementary school-age children and principles of child development, the behavior of young children, positive discipline, and redirection techniques
• Must LOVE nature and being outdoors
• A philosophy of early childhood education that is compatible with the center’s
• Ability to establish warm supportive relationships with the children, accept and profit from supervision and constructive criticism, develop and maintain working relationships with parents and staff, and thrive in a team-oriented environment
• Basic computer skills including the ability to access the internet for research, send and receive emails, and experience using computer programs to create documents
• Knowledge of NAEYC Accreditation criteria is helpful but not necessary
• Attendance of Staff meetings, and other family and center-wide events
