Job Title: Clerk, Special Populations Reports to: Director, Special Populations Services Dept.: Special Populations Services Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: CP3 Calendar: 197 Primary PurposeAssist the Special Education Department with translation of ARDS, forms, etc. Perform clerical duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Educational Aide certificate
Bilingual (Spanish) required
Special Knowledge/Skills
Proficient skills in keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Basic math skills
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do
word processing Major Responsibilities And Duties
Assists teachers in translating instructional materials.
Assists with translation of testing instruments and work assignments.
Attends Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to assist with translation and explanation of the contents of the meeting.
Assists public, staff and students as needed.
Assists with records of individual students.
Compiles, maintains and files 504’s and special education materials.
Prints referral packets.
Translates forms for special education students and staff.
Provides clerical assistance as needed.
Utilizes current technology to create forms and documents.
Complies with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule board policy.
Complies with all district and campus routines and regulations.
Maintains confidentiality.
Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
Participates in staffing meetings and special events as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
All duties must be performed on site.
