Job Objective:
The Laundry Aide performs tasks to assure that linen/clothing preparation and cleaning best meets the care/comfort needs of the residents, and that all linen is handled, stored, and processed to control/prevent infection.
Job Standards:
- Sense of responsibility and ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
-Capable of learning to operate laundry machinery after brief on-the-job training
- Must be able to stand most of the shift in an environment with consistent exposure to heat and humidity
- Able to perform simple motor skills such as standing, walking, sitting, bending, etc.
- Able to perform simple manipulative skills such as sorting clothing, adjusting dials.
- Able to remember simple and multiple tasks and assignments given to self and others, ranging from short to long periods of time.
- Must have sufficient vision to read gauges and recognize colors
- Must be able to push/pull linen cart/bags weighing up to 20 lbs. On occasion may push/pull loads up to 50 lbs.
-Must have adequate hearing to receive verbal instructions, answer phone calls and communicate effectively with others in an area with much background noise.
Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday and every other Saturday. No Sundays.
