LITTLETON CONSUMER COOPERATIVE SOCIETY is Hiring a Custodial/Facilities Clerk Near Littleton, NH

Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintains overall cleanliness of the Co-op facilities including the sales floor, back rooms, restrooms, break room, office, parking lot and grounds; sweep and vacuum, empty trash, provide miscellaneous clean-up duties as assigned, assist Facilities Manager as needed to keep the Co-op in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. This position will also offer support to Facilities Manager as needed. This position will require a mix of weekend, morning, and afternoon/evening shifts (ex. Tues & Thurs. pm, Sat & Sun am), approximately 24 hours/week.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to the co-op’s seven guiding principles and mission.
  • Regular, reliable and consistent attendance.
  • Cooperate and communicate with all co-op staff members.
  • Stay informed by reading all internal communications.
  • Know and follow all Co-op policies and procedures.
  • Establish appropriate priorities, manage and use time well.
  • Learn and adapt to new procedures and tasks.
  • Handle job responsibilities in an accurate, thorough, professional and friendly
  • manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and switch tasks mid-stream to help others.
  • Manage upkeep and cleanliness of all assigned areas of the Co-op;
  • Follow all safety procedures to ensure the safety of customers and staff while effectively cleaning the store are followed;
  • Ensure all daily activities assigned are followed through and checked off according to the tasks assigned;
  • Gather baskets and/or carts from parking lot, registers, etc.
  • Outdoor maintenance as needed (shoveling walkways, etc)
  • Assist Facilities Manager with projects as needed
  • Regularly change/empty trash in assigned areas
  • General cleaning of all staff areas and customer areas
  • Maintain clean compost areas and containers
  • Miscellaneous duties pertaining to general facility maintenance and cleaning as assigned 

Customer Service:

  • Provides customers with a high level of efficient, responsive service.
  • Ability to project a friendly personality and work as a positive team member.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and an interest in serving the public.
  • Ability to clean the designated areas in the store without interrupting the flow of customers throughout their shopping experience.
  • Maintain all areas are clean of debris and sanitized to ensure a quality experience for customers whether they are shopping or dining in the café. 

Store:

  • Manage the upkeep of the cleanliness of the overall areas of the Co-op;
  • Follow all safety procedures to ensure the safety of customers and staff while effectively cleaning the store are followed;
  • Ensure all daily activities assigned are followed through and checked off according to the tasks assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of cleaning, custodial duties;
  • Ability to manage and complete duties on a daily basis;
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines to follow while ensuring customer service standards.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to be able to stand,

walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of

10-60 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity,

including ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment. The associate

frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

Regularity and consistency of attendance is essential to ensure high quality service and

ultimately a productive department and company.
