Livingston HealthCare is Hiring an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Park Ranger Clinic Near Livingston, MT

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a 0.1 position for an Advanced Practice Provider. The APP will provide primary health care and perform selective medical services within the scope of the approved utilization plan at Park High School. The APP will care for students, teachers, and staff from Park High School and Sleeping Giant Middle School. Additionally, the APP will be involved in health promotion and disease prevention activities as directed.

  • Possibility of going up to 6 hours with patient growth (0.2FTE)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Reviews patient records to determine health status.
  • Makes decisions regarding data gathering and appropriate management and treatment of patients being seen for the initial evaluation of a problem or the follow-up evaluation of a previously diagnosed and stabilized condition.
  • Prepares written and electronic prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
  • Administers vaccines and IM medications
  • Obtains POC labs as needed when students are unable to access the LHC campus.
  • Manages the POC lab and Ranger Clinic space, coordinating with other providers in the space
  • Helps coordinate scheduling of Ranger Clinic patients
  • Interviews, advises and instructs patients and family regarding medications, treatment, health and illness prevention.
  • Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
  • Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
  • Attends regular meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Arranges for or refers patients to needed services not provided at the clinic.
  • Identifies normal and abnormal findings in history, physical examination and commonly performed laboratory studies

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports directly to physician when required.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

  • Completion of an approved APP program.
  • Possesses appropriate state license to practice as an APP.
  • Current DEA.
  • Certification from National Certification Organization.
  • Must have a mature personality, sense of responsibility and integrity.
  • Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills.
  • Must be level headed and calm in emergencies and under stress.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Able to communicate clearly, both verbal and written.
  • Strong personal initiative required.
  • Have a supervisory agreement on file with Montana Board of Medical Examiners.
  • In all matters this person shall observe the confidentiality of patient records and information.
