LLANO LOGISTICS is Hiring a Battery Technician Near Lubbock, TX
Key Requirements:
- Change forklift and pallet jack batteries in a safe and proper manner using the MCI Battery Charger
- Guiding into position
Unplugging
Pulling
Placement Document unsafe batteries, leaking, over filled, bare wires and lacking charges- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
Change all on site batteries
Over-see proper process for forklift and pallet jack operators
Document battery numbers, in/out run times
Check each battery as to water levels, documentation , filling if necessary
Conduct minor repairs - changing caps, o rings, cell covers, connectors, heat shrinking cables
Clean batteries with neutralizer, scraping heavy acid buildup with brush and putting through battery washer
Track and order parts for repairs, battery area tools, etc.
Maintain a neat and organized work area
Maintain clean work area: sweeping floors, scrubbing acid residue from floors & trays, under rack, battery carts
Ensure compliance with Llano’s safe practices for battery changing
Wear proper PPE equipment
Perform additional duties as assigned by managementKey Responsibilities:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools
Ability to write numeric and alphanumeric characters
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift
Ability to load/unload, lift/move equipment/product which may weigh up to 100 pounds
Forklift and pallet jack operator certificate or satisfactory completion of warehouse training program is required within the first 30 days of employment
Ability to mount and dismount forklift through the duration of the shift which requires bending, stretching, stepping, reaching, climbing, and stooping
Ability to operate various material handling equipment
Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
