Summary:
The Salvage Lead is responsible for unloading reusable and recyclable assets that are returned from stores as well as providing direct assistance to the Transportation Supervisor and Salvage Team. Currently have two openings for this position. One is for the AM Shift 3am till 11:30am and one is for the PM Shift 1pm till 9:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:

• Leads salvage team which includes giving direction, training, and assisting with performance management when Transportation Supervisor is off/duty or unavailable
• Perform own salvage tasks while ensuring that all team members tasks are accomplished to standard
• Make recommendations to Transportation Supervisor regarding improvements to Salvage department efficiency and/or effectiveness
• Communicate issues and important information to the appropriate person immediately
• Adhere to company policies and core values
• Remove debris from trailers including plastic wrap, cardboard, packer boxes and trash
• Bale plastic and cardboard
• Sort and segregate pallets, egg crates, cardboard and plastic
• Clean and maintain area from spills and keep a safe work environment
• Safely operate forklift, pallet jack, and baler
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Key Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift
• Ability to load/unload, lift/move equipment/product which may weigh up to 100 pounds
• Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver around other Team Members and equipment.
• Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
• Ability to function as a team and get along with others
