Lobsterboys is Hiring a Team Lead/Laborer/Opener Near Huntington, NY

Our ocean-to-kitchen operation is committed to delivering the best live lobsters harvested for the world’s most discerning restaurants and chefs.

Our Long Island, New York based location is looking for an experienced hands-on Warehouse Team lead, laborer and eventually the Closer to the shift. This candidate esponsible to take direction from supervisor, plan, direct and manage the daily receiving, packing and distribution operations in our warehouse and to support a culture that values commitment to excellence, respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. You will report directly to the on-site Operations Finance leader and oversee a growing team.

This candidate is analytical, well-organized and excels in communication. You must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems and have great knowledge of operations, shipping and receiving procedures, a passion for food and exceptional customer service.

It is critical that the successful candidate be able to build productive professional relationships with team members. The role will serve as a model for team members.

Shift: Monday through Friday, 12:00p – 8:00p

Spanish speaking a PLUS.

Responsibilities:

· Direct and manage all product from receipt to preparation through shipment

· Inventory management includes direct handling, weighing, counting and packaging of

live lobsters and other fresh seafood

· Comfortable with real-time recording of inventory transactions

· High comfort level with route management software (i.e. Ship Station/similar) for timely

deliveries to ensure quality customer experiences every time

· Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notices, pick slips, bills of

lading etc.

· Manage packaging quality control process through inspection and verification of

barcodes and other features of completed orders

· Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing team/crew members to optimize processes

· Over communicate daily with Operational Finance Leader regarding department status

(i.e. inventory minimums, success, issues, planning

· Resolve issues regarding shipped orders

· Work with QA team to ensure quality and adherence to specifications regarding

receiving, inspecting, and storing product to ensure quality and managing loss prevention

· Follow proper cleaning and sanitation procedures and operate equipment in a safe manner

Team Building:

· Interview and select best fit for Team Associates in partnership with Operational Finance Leader and People Service

· Train and develop all Team Associates to optimize production

· Monitor and manage Team Associates work schedules and coordinate breaks

· Ensure all safety protocols are being followed by Team Associates

· Conduct staff meetings to ensure all operational tasks are being addressed and

prioritized

· Manage and lead Team Associates to promote growth, efficiency, high morale, and

teamwork

· Create a strong team culture based on dally excellence.

· Adhering to the brand quality guidance, each pack. Qualifications:

· Proven management experience

· Ability to work a flexible schedule to ensure leadership presence across shifts, including

weekends, and holidays as determined by business needs

· Ability to help build a team committed to excellence

· Ability to communicate with customer and treat the public with respect

· Solid knowledge of logistics procedures

· Ability to learn current processes quickly and identify process improvement

opportunities

Education Requirements:

· High school diploma: BSc/BA in supply chain, logistics or relative field is a definite plus or equivalent work experience in related industry

· Supervisor/Management experience

· 5 years of supervisor experience; preferably direct-to consumer fulfillment

· Experience working with NetSuite or similar system experience involving inventory

controls

· Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)

· Driver’s License with no violations

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· This position does supervise employees

Physical Demands:

· Ability to move/lift to 120lbs with assistance IE responsible for 60lbs of the 120lbs lift.

· Ability to withstands cool/cold temperatures in a typical food warehouse environment

· Floor of work area may be wet, so care must be taken when walking or operating equipment

· Position spends 6-8 hours standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing ladders

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

· Forklift operator license and ability to use a pallet jack

· Comfortable with power tools and light maintenance

Certifications:

· Regulatory and food safety knowledge adhering to local, state and federal regulations and requirements

· Familiarity of OSHA (required) and HACCP requirements (desired)

Pay:

· Pay; negotiable based on experience after monthly real time performance
