Job DescriptionEssential Functions
- Ensure all properties are properly maintained to company standards and meet staff requirements and weather challenges. This may entail working with no notice, odd hours, long shifts, and during times of inclement weather or natural disasters.
- Designing and planning of Landscape projects.
- Routine tracking and annual participation in the development of the landscaping budgets.
- Select, order, and track landscaping plant materials and supplies keeping in line with annual maintenance budgets.
- Lead and manage small project teams.
- Maintain landscape beds and outdoor planters.
- Work with crew foreman to create planting layout for all beds, planters, and daily tasks.
- Prepare all beds and planters prior to spring planting.
- Lead and manage staff during spring/fall planting.
- Maintain all beds and planters throughout season including watering, applying plant protection and nutrition products, weeding and mulching.
- Dispose of plant material, prepare beds at the end of the growing season.
- Operate pruning tools to help with tree maintenance.
- Ability to drive a truck with trailer attachment.
- Ensure staff wears/uses the safety gear appropriate for each given task.
- Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily, reports equipment problems or failure immediately.
- Clean the equipment and maintenance areas; return all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
- Snow and ice removal as necessary.
- Always represent Viridity in a professional manner.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Maintains a neat and clean appearance, agrees to wear required uniform and wear/use PPE.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with daily activities.
- Practice regular and prompt attendance with a flexible work schedule.
- Exceptional time management.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with Executive Leadership, Team Leads and other associates.
- Logical thinking.
- Bachelor’s Degree in horticulture or related field.
- 1-3 years of industry experience required.
- Proven experience in design and using landscape design software.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. Certificate preferred.
- Knowledge of proper planting, cultivating and caring for plants.
- Understands soil composition and the use of soil amendments.
- Knows proper pruning techniques for plants, shrubs and trees.
- Ability to use hand-held tools and light motorized equipment as well as trucks and trailers.
- Certified Pesticide Applicator by the Missouri Department of Agriculture with specific certification in Ornamental and Turf Pest Control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.

- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, as well as toxic and caustic chemicals.
- Will be working near moving mechanical parts.
- Reliable transportation to both clubs.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
