Lochmueller Group is Hiring a Bentley CAD Systems Manager Near Evansville, IN

Lochmueller Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Bentley CAD Systems Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced civil designer with extensive roadway/highway design experience and expertise with Bentley's product suite, including Open Roads Designer (ORD), GeoPak, and Open Bridge Designer. As a member of the Highway Design team, the CAD Systems Manager will manage ORD standards and workspaces for multiple states and perform roadway and highway design functions. This role is responsible for establishing standards and workflows for ORD, GeoPak, and Open Bridge modeling and plan production across the organization. The manager will implement and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and workspaces for various State DOTs, while also training and mentoring CAD users on core application skills and standards. Additionally, the Bentley CAD Systems Manager will analyze workflows and recommend efficiency improvements.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
    • Leadership & Training : Provides continuing education to all staff in the use of Bentley applications and plan production, and may train and mentor junior level staff.
    • CAD Management and Documentation : Documents processes, procedures and workflows for organization and discipline-specific distribution. Manages the development and implementation of custom design software workspaces for transportation and bridge design projects.
    • Production and Design : Independently produces and revises routine drawings, or sketches related to the engineering design using the established standards. Performs QA/QC on CAD models, drawings, and contract documents. Works directly with project teams to manage the coordination of multi-disciplinary models across multiple project stakeholders (designers, subcontractors, etc.). Provides audits for DOT CAD submittals as required. Independently completes simple field assignments when appropriate. Collaborates with project managers on proposal development, project estimates, and value-added services. Aids in the development of technical reports, material costs and construction estimates.
    • Workflow Optimization and Recommendations : Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies. Recommends best practices for solutions to meet client business needs. Develops custom tools and applications to optimize consistency and efficiency of established workflows.
    • Collaboration and Support : Works closely with the Chief Engineer(s) on CAD standards, training, initiatives, and other technical needs. Collaborates with Information Technology team to provide user support and assist with implementation of new application versions. Maintains a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
    • May perform other duties associated with this role.
Qualifications for this role:
    • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
    • 15 years of relevant experience.
    • Expert knowledge of Open Roads Designer (ORD) and Open Bridge system and standards.
    • Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary design teams.
    • Successful track record in project delivery and adherence to standards.
    • Expertise in developing and implementing design standards.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
