SUMMARY
Lodestar Energy is seeking a Business Development Analyst based in the Greater New York City Area to support our team in identifying and developing community and C&I (commercial & industrial) solar and energy storage projects that are profitable and financeable. This individual will play a pivotal role in the company's corporate strategy, policy and regulatory affairs, and market development.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Lodestar Energy is a small company with large-company capabilities. We pride ourselves on flexibility for employees, with a hybrid approach built around individual needs. We have offices in Manhattan, New York, and Avon, Connecticut. Candidates will ideally be located in New York City, with consideration made for qualified candidates based in New England.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze the current state of Lodestar’s existing markets, regulatory environments, interconnection, and incentive programs to identify opportunities for increased effectiveness.
• Monitor policy and regulatory changes across Lodestar’s existing markets.
• Act as Lodestar’s policy liaison, attending state and subject-specific policy webinars, and maintaining an internal tracker as a resource for the broader team.
• Evaluate potential new market opportunities driven by shifting policy and regulatory landscapes.
• Create strategies and processes to guide project development efforts in new markets.
• Organize potential site prospecting (direct mail, email, and cold calling) across prospective markets to help test new market entry strategies.
• Build and maintain a new market pipeline and collaborate with the core project development team on advancing early-stage leads.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrated interest in renewable energy and desire to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
• 1-2 years of work experience with a preference for renewable energy, policy, consulting and market analysis.
• Experience in comparative analysis and evaluating opportunity cost.
• Strategic thinker with a creative, problem-solving mindset.
• Proactive, results-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently; driven and self-motivated.
REMUNERATION
• Base salary: $70,000 – $80,000 with additional bonus structure.
• 14 days PTO in addition to existing Lodestar holiday policy.
