Logansport Utilities is Hiring an Assistant Operations Manager- Utilities Water Dept Near Logansport, IN

Job Summary:

Under general direction, plans, organizes, and supervises the work of personnel in Water Department. Leads team in selection, reading, installing, maintaining, replacing, and servicing residential, commercial, and industrial water meters, and resolve customer service issues. Performs related duties, as assigned.

Responsibilities:

· Water Quality

  • Responsible for periodic sampling requirements, record keeping, and maintaining inventory

· Water Treatment

  • Responsible for CL2 supply, feeding system, and dosing as well as dosing, record keeping, safety & handling.
  • Provide charting and record keeping as required.

· Metering

  • Trouble shoot customer concerns.
  • Maintain meter and meter accessories inventory
  • Perform annual meter testing, both internal and contracted.
  • Respond to meter alarm and calibration issues received through customer service.

· GIS/Mapping

  • Track workflow and leaks
  • Maintain lead line inventory
  • Manage assets – hydrants, valves, mains, service lines, wells, etc.

· Distribution

  • Responsible for main breaks, hydrant, valve, and catch basin repair and replacement
  • Oversee regular tank cleanings and inspection as well as Wells & Booster Station maintenance and upkeep
  • Oversee SCADA

· Compliance & Regulation

  • Manage Water Loss Audit, WHPP & SWP
  • ERP Training of internal staff, coordinate external trainings
  • PFAS, PFOS & PFOA
  • LSLI– investigation, data collection and submission
  • LSLR – identification, grouping and planning
  • All areas of WHPP, SWP, MRO, DNR, CCR, LCRR, SDWA
  • Coordinate all EPA Site Visits

Minimum Requirements for Applicants:

· Education - High School Graduate or GED

· Experience – minimum 2 years’ experience in a Utilities Water Department

· T2 certification – within 18 months of accepting position

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

· Education - Bachelor of Science in Business or related field

· Supervisory experience – 2 years of proven supervisory experience.

· Computer Skills:

Microsoft Outlook - Email and Calendar

Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)

Comfortable learning Enterprise Resource Program software

· Physical requirements:

  • Alternating periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer and being outside in all types of weather.
