Audio Visual (AV) and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Subject Matter Expert (SME)

LSI requires an audio visual (AV) and video teleconferencing (VTC) subject matter expert in support of a federal customer. Responsibilities include designing, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining AV and VTC systems. The ideal candidate would have at least 10 years of experience managing and building AV/VTC operations and have a Secret clearance.

Position Description

• Design and integrate AV and VTC solutions, including projectors, displays, lighting, microphones, sound systems, video conferencing equipment, and control systems.
• Configure and program AV and VTC equipment for optimal performance and user experience.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AV and VTC systems during live events, meetings, and conferences.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and operation of AV and VTC solutions.
• Conduct site visits and develop project-based cost estimates that include labor, travel, and the material required to meet the customer requirements.
• Stay up to date with the latest AV and VTC technologies, standards, and best practices.
• Conduct training sessions for end-users on the operation and maintenance of AV and VTC systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and inventory management of AV and VTC equipment.
• Will lead an AV/VTC Team project team

Skills / Experience Required

• AV/VTC systems design and installation, including experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and intelligence community systems. This involves designing integrated AV solutions, configuring equipment, and installing systems for optimal performance.
• Expertise in video conferencing technologies like SIP, H.323, RTP, SRTP, codecs (e.g., Tandberg, Polycom, Cisco), video compression standards, and networking fundamentals. Deep knowledge of video protocols, control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron), and QoS.
• Troubleshooting and maintenance skills for AV/VTC equipment, including fault isolation, repairs, replacements, and firmware updates. Ability to resolve operational issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Understanding of DoD VTC requirements, security controls (DISA STIGs), and information assurance frameworks like DITSCAP/NIST RMF. Experience with IA controls and compliance is essential for secure VTC deployments.
• Knowledge of KIV-7 encryption keys for classified ISDN/IP connectivity and firewall traversal techniques. Familiarity with secure communications and encryption methods used in DoD/IC environments.
• Proficiency in operating analog and digital video production equipment, video editing software (e.g., Avid), and multimedia production tools. Video production skills are valuable for creating high-quality content for VTC sessions.
• Training and client consulting abilities to educate end-users on AV/VTC equipment operation and control interfaces. Effective communication and teaching skills are necessary.
• Project management, documentation, and reporting skills for AV/VTC deployments, including site surveys, system design documents, and recurring reports.
• Hands-on experience with construction methods, electrical wiring, cable/fiber installation, and working at heights (ladders, lifts).
• Experience with gathering AV/VTC requirements, developing quote/cost estimates and implementing solutions based on the requirements.
