The Supervisor-Lab Technical provides technical leadership and serves as a resource to production for resolving technical issues and attaining specialty and/or departmental goals. Seeks to improve and enhance Laboratory and LIS Systems functionality through efficient use of resources, open communication with users regarding needs and systems uses, and reduction in the number and/or complexity of user tasks. Selects, calibrates, validates, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots methods and equipment using technical knowledge, discretion, and judgment. Oversees, coordinates, and participates in the training of laboratory staff, students, residents, and others as appropriate including preparation of instructional materials. Performs tests and reports results following standard operating procedures for patient specimens, proficiency samples, and quality control. Prepares and maintains documents and records, including laboratory information system (LIS). These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
