Lone Star Paving is Hiring an Aggregate Plant Maintenance Technician Near Austin, TX
Functional Summary Plant and Maintenance Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment and related facilities. Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Plant Maintenance Technician include, but not limited to:
Conduct regular maintenance and service on the asphalt plant to ensure its optimal performance.
Conducting preventive maintenance and documenting plant function records
Organizing preventive maintenance schedules, and performing routine inspections
responsible for carrying out a performance test, troubleshooting plant equipment issues, and installing plant equipment and piping systems
Must be mechanically inclined with some working knowledge of Asphalt Plants and related equipment
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Repairs electrical equipment.
Works with plumbing and other functions of the plants.
Welds broken parts, structural members and other items as necessary
Grease and lubricate the plant components to keep them working efficiently.
Monitor and maintain proper oil levels in the plant equipment.
Perform minor repairs and servicing of the plant as needed.
Operate the asphalt plant and loader effectively and safely.
Perform ground maintenance tasks to keep the plant and yard clean and organized.
Assist with shoveling, sweeping, steam cleaning, painting, tire work, mechanical tasks, lifting, pushing, pulling, and raking.
Complete other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED but not required Work Experience
Minimum 2-3 years' experience with plant operation
Technical Knowledge
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and fabrication
Understanding of computerized controls and electronics
Working Conditions
Out of town travel might be required
Overtime as required.
Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
