Description

Purpose
Oversees and performs all Produce Supply Management, Inventory Management and Category Management activities within the produce product category to ensure the availability of high-quality and cost-effective products. Ensure produce products are sourced from suppliers, produced, and delivered to South Side Market Pharmacy for Customer Fulfillment requirements and Business Performance Plans.
Summary of work activities, tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage inventory counts, rotation and accuracy
  • Identify, record and communicate inventory discrepancies
  • Conduct scheduled inventory count processes and maintain accurate records
  • Stage inventory to sell time-sensitive product on a first-in-first-out basis
  • Manage daily inspection of product, in house and incoming, to ensure quality standards
  • Consistently monitor strategic management of product storage
  • Maintain and support strict adherence to food safety practices
  • Help receive and organize all incoming product
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards
  • Knowledgeable about stages of plant life
  • Makes independent decisions about the health of plants/produce
  • Assumes primary responsibility of maintaining day-to-day operations of the agency's gardens and greenhouse year-round
  • Knowledgeable about producing and utilizing compost for plant growth, along with how to improve the soil quality
  • Manages effectively greenhouse and garden supplies/equipment (small and large)
  • Maintains records/logs of plants from seed to harvest as well as quantities produced and other valuable notes
  • Knowledgeable of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) safety regulations to ensure safe food production
  • Orders and accounts for material and labor accurately relative to greenhouse maintenance, including inventory and itemized costs on supplies
  • Issues, inventories, and orders greenhouse supplies
  • Works well with supervisors and other members of the team
  • Maintains consistent and punctual attendance
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Experience working with low-income families.
  • Fingerprint submission for criminal background check as a condition of employment.
  • Pre-employment drug test as a condition of employment.
  • Pre-employment physical as a condition of employment.
  • Proof of education and credential (copy of credential certificate, official college transcripts, copy of diploma, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Sales experience in specialty products in the food industry is desired.
  • Agricultural and food-industry-related experience is desired.
Education required
High school diploma required.
Education preferred
Bachelor degree in related field preferred.

At least two (2) years experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. at waist height within an office setting.
