Lorain County Community College is Hiring an Adjunct Faculty – Fluid Power Near Elyria, OH

Job DescriptionLorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and innovative applicants for an adjunct faculty position within the Division of Engineering, Business, and Information Technologies (EBIT). The Adjunct Fluid Power Instructor will be responsible for, but not limited to, providing mechanical system lectures and labs for a variety of fluid power courses on an as needed basis, primarily TECN 121 Introduction to Fluid Power. Topics of instruction include principles of hydraulics and pneumatics, fluid mechanics/dynamics, conventional fluid circuits and fluid power components. Emphasis on applications, component selection and related mathematics computations. Other fluid power courses the candidate would have opportunities to teach as needed include Fluid Power Control Systems, Hydraulic Components and Circuits and, Piping Systems and Codes.
The instructor: Must be available to teach days and/or evenings; Must feel comfortable using learning management systems (Canvas) in the delivery of courses; Must be able to utilize and maintain lab equipment; Must be able to adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs and interests of students; Must be able to administer and grade tests, evaluate students, prepare weekly classes and performance testing based on the course curriculum; Must demonstrate a working knowledge and appreciation of mechanical system practices used in industry; Must be able to demonstrate the safe and proper use of tools and equipment used in industry; Must be able to deliver curriculum on campus.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field; a minimum of three years of industry experience; ability to operate a computer to post syllabus, grades, and attendance.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related field; Prior college level teaching experience.
