Controller/Senior Accountant for a Real Estate and Custom Residential Home Builder
Position: Financial Controller

Custom, high end, residential home construction and real estate business in the Atlanta area with about $50M in revenue searching for a Financial Controller.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Must have obtained at least a 4-year accounting degree. CPA or Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years residential or commercial construction, or real estate accounting experience mandatory.
  • Collaborative team player with strong intellectual skills.
  • Hands-on management style that can work in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • Strong Organization Skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have strong Leadership skills and ability to work with little direction.
  • Must have high degree of Integrity
  • Must be able to understand Management Accounting

Job Description: Must be able to manage the following:

  • Coordinate operational and construction budgets, weekly forecasts and analyze variances against budget and prior months forecast
  • Manage two in-house employees on the accounting team
  • Manage Month-End, an outsourced accounting firm supporting AP, AR and other accounting related tasks
  • Manage and support Accounts Payables and Receivables
  • Process certified payroll through ADP, including job cost related payroll
  • Reconcile job cost and general ledger accounts
  • Manage bank reconciliations;
  • Ongoing maintenance of the Work-In-Process (“WIP”) schedule and resolving job overbillings
  • Prepared financial statements and supporting documentation according to monthly schedule;
  • Forecast cost analysis;
  • Reconciled balance sheet and income accounts - cash, credit cards, AR, AP, sales tax returns, payroll suspense and etc.;
  • Manage sales/income tax quarterly prepayments, assisted in preparation of income tax returns for multiple entities, property taxes;
  • Communicate with management on ways to cut costs and reduce overages
  • Monitor cash flow of the construction entities and prepare weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Quickbooks knowledge is mandatory
  • Buildertrend management software knowledge not mandatory, but a plus

Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
