Job SummaryOur team seeks individuals dedicated to supporting pet-loving members of the Loudoun community. The position requires outgoing customer service skills to handle a high volume of calls and walk-in customers who need assistance with a variety of tasks including adoption and intake of animals, processing dog licenses, and input of lost and found reports. LCAS places an emphasis on providing non-judgmental, compassionate services to people and animals who are frequently in stressful or emotionally charged situations. While everyone at LCAS is an “animal person”, the customer service team members know that the best way to assist animals is through kindness to the people who care for them.
This position requires a self-motivated individual who works independently and is also skilled at working in a team-oriented environment. Successful candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, computer data entry skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to perform multiple tasks with an acute attention to detail. Having proficiency in multiple languages is a plus. The LCAS environment is ever-changing and always supportive, staffed by an award-winning team wholly committed to our mission and dedicated to a safe, humane, compassionate Loudoun.
This position regularly works both Saturday and Sunday, and evenings (to 6pm).
Hiring salary commensurate with experience.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience in a clerical position involving contact with the public and working with automated systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Job Contingencies And Special RequirementsSuccessful candidate must pass a criminal background check.
Customer Service is a physically demanding occupation, with the potential for exposure to infectious diseases, viruses, noxious fumes and chemicals, as well as risk of injury. A rabies pre-exposure vaccination series will commence immediately upon hire unless proof of prior vaccination is provided. Must be able to handle animals weighing over 50 pounds. Successful candidate will be considered essential personnel and is required to report for duty during inclement weather and other emergencies. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of animal identification, behavior, and care of domestic animals.
