Job Description

Overall Purpose and Objective of Position : This position loads and unloads liquid products at a soybean crushing and biodiesel plant.

Primary functions are to unload trucks and railcars with incoming ingredients and to load trucks and railcars with final products.

Responsible for complying with all applicable Company standards and government regulations.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Loads and unloads trucks and railcars with products, using computerized control stations, meters and scales. Ensures the timely receipt and delivery of all handled products.
• Loads and unloads flammable liquids.
• Inspects material handling equipment and performs routine adjustments and maintenance as required.
• Ensures compliance with Company safety rules and wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities.
• Responds to equipment issues or alarms; investigates and initiates resolutions.

Additional Responsibilities :

• Ensures work area is kept clean and free from safety hazards.
• Serves as the liaison between plant superintendents and the production staff.
• Actively participates in Shift / Team activities including complying with best practices, standard operating procedures, development and maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.
• Actively participates in job-related training as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and industrial processing machinery.
• Ability to perform all duties of position while maintaining compliance with regulatory safety requirements, e.g., OSHA (including PSM, EPA, USDA, ISO 9000 and BQ-9000).
• High school diploma / GED (Technical degree preferred).
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders as well as work at heights; manage confined space entry, withstand extended periods of walking and standing;

and move manufacturing materials, products and equipment of 50 pounds or more which requires regular bending and lifting.

• Effective communication skills
• Fundamental PC skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Basic math skills.
