Job Description:
The Resilience Engagement Coordinator will coordinate education and outreach efforts on issues related to community and coastal resilience like insurance in support of the Law and Policy Program in Louisiana Sea Grant (LSG). The goal is to efficiently and effectively advance resilience communities and economies activities in LASG to provide support across the various research, communications, and extension units of LASG to meet priorities as defined in the LASG Strategic Plan. The Coordinator will supervise technical and student activities in LASG to provide support across the various research, communications, and extension units of LASG to meet priorities as defined in the LASG Strategic Plan.
Job Responsibilities:
- Expand LSG's resilience efforts by: 1) Create new programming and/or resources related to insurance to address stakeholder needs, 2) conduct and evaluate extension programming on resilience efforts as needed, 3) coordinate and market resilience extension and education programming to better meet stakeholder needs. (50%)
- Provide planning and logistical support for existing resilience programming, including coordination support for LSGLPP resilience programming and MEP resilience programming. (30%)
- Serve as a liaison between LSU LaHouse and Sea Grant on resilience programming. (10%)
- Other duties as requested by the supervisor (10%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and experience in education or outreach activities. Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or JD with 2-8 years experience coordinating webinars, workshops on issues related to community resilience, particularly with a focus on flood insurance, homeowners insurance, and/or business insurance.
