Job Summary:
The individual will be involved developing materials for beginner level training presentations and content for students (high school, undergraduate), pest control operators, local government, farmers, and homeowners on best practices in vector borne prevention and management. These trainings will focus on mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, other biting flies, and kissing bugs. They will also assist in distributing surveys during training events. They will help plan and operate training local training events for students, pest control operators, and homeowners in collaboration with another student and Dr. Ashbrook. They will also follow up on deployed surveys to ensure a high percentage of return. They will also aid in operating training programs and recruiting other interested parties to the project. This position is only 6 months in duration. Experience working with the above mentioned insects, public health, or pest management is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives
- Design and develop training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, and job aids
- Create engaging and interactive learning experiences using various instructional design techniques
- Utilize technologies such as
- Conduct thorough research to gather relevant information for training content development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of training materials
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback mechanisms
- Update and revise training materials as needed based on feedback and changing needs

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
