Job Description: Faith Based Community Outreach Peer

We are looking for a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team. The Peer Specialist is responsible for going into the BIPOC faith based community of Henderson Co. and embedding themselves into the churches to provide peer support services to the members of the church. They will be responsible for assisting peers in need, providing peer support and assistance, and working with community collaborators on breaking down stigma in the BIPOC Faith Based Community.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide peer support and assistance to individuals in need.
  • Provide peer support to individuals enrolled in our program.
  • Ensure that all peer support programs are working smoothly and effectively.
  • Assist with the development of new programs to increase efficiency of the program.
  • Evaluate and implement new program changes as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responding to emails
  • Take initiative within the faith based community
  • Office supply upkeep and tracking
  • Website management
  • Assist Office Manager, Executive director, and all other leadership positions.

Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • Peer Support Certification
