We're embarking on an exciting journey and seek a dynamic Assistant Bookstore Manager to join our team and contribute to our new venture.

Role Overview: The Assistant Manager will support the Bookstore Manager in daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing inventory, and overseeing bookstore staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for books and customer satisfaction, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Assist the Bookstore Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the bookstore.

· Ensure exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

· Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts, and placing orders as needed.

· Supervise and train bookstore staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and providing guidance as needed.

· Maintain store cleanliness and organization to promote an inviting atmosphere for customers.

· Assist in the implementation of promotional strategies and events to drive sales and customer engagement.

· Handle cash management procedures and ensure accuracy in cash handling.

· Collaborate with the Bookstore Manager to develop and achieve sales goals and targets.

· Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new products to provide recommendations to customers and improve bookstore offerings.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Bookstore Manager.

Qualifications:

· A minimum of 2 years in retail management and/or bookstore operations required.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Strong organizational and time management abilities.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale systems.

· Passion for books and literature. Bookstore and Bookseller experience is a PLUS.

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
