Job Description:

Loving Hearts of LA is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic Controller to join their esteemed company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. As part of the leadership team, you will be expected to lead the production of innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, to challenge the status quo, and to encourage creativity throughout your area of responsibility. You’re required to give financial reports to the CEO. Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts. You’re responsible for the day-to day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll. You must be comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties. Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure A/Rs are collected on time. Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies. Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals and handle daily cash management. Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation. Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis. Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines. Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment. Must be a Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills analytics and management experience required. Must have great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

•This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department

•Give financial reports to CEO monthly

•Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

•Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

•Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

•Work closely with the executive team to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

•Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

•Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

•Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

•Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

•Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

•Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred - Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role - Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices - Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks - Experience with account reconciliation, financial analysis, and budgeting - Familiarity with payroll processes and procedures - Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills -Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines -Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills -Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment-Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued -Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills-Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment -Supervising experience-Solid understanding of HealthCare Industry preferred-Accounts Payable (AP) experience-Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required-Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
