Position Summary
Lowell Community Health Center is seeking motivated pharmacy cashiers to support our values and mission, while providing a positive work environment to support professional growth and development. The pharmacy cashier shall report to the pharmacy manager and assist the pharmacist in operating the pharmacy by performing daily functions in the pharmacy. This will include registering sales on assigned cash register and providing courteous, friendly, and efficient checkout service to customers of the pharmacy
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
- Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience
- Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash and distributes change as requested; processes refunds, and exchanges as needed
- Assists with OTC products
- Operates pharmacy systems to obtain patient prescription status
- Reports, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Lowell Community Health Center policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Continuous Quality Improvement Program
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records
- Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
- Has working knowledge of pharmacy register systems and store equipment
- Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly condition and appearance
- Complies with all health center policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers
- Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Job Knowledge – Competent in required job skills and knowledge; Having the ability to accurately work a register and credit card terminal, answering phones and making calls to patients, displays understanding of how job relates to others; maintains confidentiality per policy and regulations; fluent in job software including the pharmacy system, uses resources effectively; pursues training and development opportunities; adapts to new technologies; keeps skill up to date; follows policies and procedures; responds to management directions; completes all organizational trainings.
