Lowell Public School District is Hiring a COORDINATOR FOR STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES Near Lowell, MA

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Relationship with the Head of School

o Keeps the Head of School informed on issues, needs and operation of the LPS, especially as they relate to all student service issues.

o Apprises the Head of School on items requiring action, with appropriate recommendations based on thorough study and analysis.

o Interprets, supports and carries out the intent of all Lowell High School policies and procedures.

o Works as part of a team with other members of Lowell High School Administration.

  • Specific Programmatic Responsibilities

o Oversees Lowell High School’s safety and student discipline program.

o Supervises Lowell High School’s Parent Information Center.

o Monitors Lowell High School’s Alternative Education programs.

o Supervises Lowell High School’s Extended Time program

o Oversees Lowell High School’s guidance program.

o Oversees Lowell High School’s Special Education Program

o Oversees Lowell High School’s 504 Program

o Monitors Lowell High School’s English Language Learners Program

o Works closely with Lowell High School’s Deans, Special Education and 504 programs.

o Monitors Lowell High School’s student database.

  • Other Responsibilities
  • Works with parents and the community, responding to concerns of individuals and/or community groups.
  • Maintains effective communication with students, staff and parents.
  • Works with school-based teams, where appropriate, to ensure effective implementation of student services and policies.
  • Respond to questionnaires, surveys, and correspondence from research or professional organizations requesting information of Lowell High School student services program.
  • Attend regular meetings of the Headmaster’s staff and serve actively to improve communication, cooperation and planning.
  • Act for the Head of School when so directed.
  • Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of School.

REPORTS TO: Head of School

SALARY: As per LSAA contract

EFFECTIVE DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: August 12, 2024

REQUIREMENTS:

A master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Licensure valid for services as Supervisor/Director in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or eligible for licensure as a Supervisor/Director in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Special Education Licensure preferred
At least 5 years in education, including successful teaching experience and at least 3 years of successful administrative experience.
Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrated success in the design, implementation and assessment of innovative student support programs, including areas such as special education.
Demonstrated ability in evaluation of professional staff
Strong Leadership skills
