Transmission Learning & Development is growing! We're currently looking for a learning and development professional to supervise our departmental training group. In this new role you will manage the daily activities of a small group of learning specialists passionate about understanding the training needs of our various departments and building learning solutions to meet those needs. Our ideal teammate has experience designing and building training programs and understands the value and importance of program evaluation and measurement.
You will be trusted to:
- Provide direction and leadership to your staff.
- Conduct training needs assessments across a diverse group of partners.
- Design and build department-specific training programs.
- Manage vendor relationships who deliver training on behalf of Transmission.
- Support the learning administration of our training programs.
- Collaborates with department leaders to ensure learning and development initiatives align with LCRA's companywide strategies and objectives.
You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in companywide and/or operational training and development programs or relevant experience, including three years of leadership responsibility.
- A degree(s) in education, human resource management, business administration or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license

- Experience in designing, developing, and delivering learning and development programs
- Experience designing and conducting training needs assessments
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Skill in establishing credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organization
- Advanced skill in applying best practices and new trends in a practical way that appropriately fits the organization
- Advanced skill in effectively partnering with leaders to design ad hoc/custom learning and development solutions
- Advanced communication skills, including verbal and written to all levels of an organization
- Skill in using learning management systems
