RELOCATION TO BETHEL, ALASKA REQUIRED
A Certificate of Clinical Compentence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
Experience working with special education students
Ability to live and work in a remote environment
Ability to travel by small plane, boat, snowmobile and other means
DUTIES
Participates with pre-referral teams and multidisciplinary teams for student screening, diagnosis, eligibility, and intervention
Ability to provide aural (re)habilitation support services, make goal recommendations, and maintain documentation of progress notes and therapy strategies on students served
Competent in identification and threshold audiometric evaluation using developmentally and logistically appropriate diagnostic procedures
Ability to evaluate the need for, selection of, and fitting of assistive listening devices
Follows current department/district eligibility criteria for audiology services
Ability to read, analyze and interpret district and state regulations
Ability to write educationally appropriate assessments reports, IEPs, and progress notes in standard English
Maintains required records based on department, district, and state standards Documents services and completes required paperwork
Effectively presents information and responds to questions clearly and concisely from parents, supervisors, and team members regarding issues related to audiology and hearing disabilities
Functions as a team member and collaborates with regular education and special education staff in supporting instruction in a variety of school settings
Establishes and maintains high standards of professionalism and diplomacy when working with students, peers, parents, private providers, related medical agencies, and community agencies
Serves as a resource to school staff, parents and community Attends and participates in staff meetings and department committees
Develops and maintains professional competency through in-services, coursework, and/or professional growth activities to apply best practice knowledge to audiology
