JOB DESCRIPTION: Position based in Charlotte, NC, some teleworking may be permitted. Travel to Lowe’s offices may be required. 

Implements somewhat complex solutions requirements and functional specifications that support integrated and sustainable designs for designated infrastructure systems independently with guidance as needed. Collaborates with other engineers to ensure flexible, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure systems are delivered. Works with more senior level engineers to provide recommendations and input on options, risks, and benefits for infrastructure systems designs. Writes and reviews clear technical specifications and documentation. Develops or modifies infrastructure solutions within designated computing environments. Develops and validates basic system design prototypes, ensuring system designs adhere to company architecture standards. Builds basic hardware and/or software configurations and prepares system components for installation to the infrastructure. Develops, validates, and executes basic infrastructure tests to identify system errors and ensure solutions meet functional specifications. Delivers the validation and testing of smaller, more basic components of larger infrastructure systems and revises key system components based on test results as appropriate. Supports the implementation and maintenance of assigned enterprise infrastructure systems to ensure successful deployment and operation by developing and documenting detailed standards (e.g., guidelines, processes, procedures) for the introduction and maintenance of services. Collaborates with Technology partners to help define and understand target strategies. Evaluates new service options, identifies issues and impacts. Provides post-implementation support, making system enhancements as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job requires a Bachelor’s degree* in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in any job title/occupation involving software engineering or a related field. *Employer will accept single degree or combination of degrees, diplomas and/or professional experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. 

Must have prior experience in: 

• 2 years of experience in 
• Using Jenkins to develop End-to-End automation pipelines to avoid manual interface in the process;
• Utilize Docker for local application deployment and testing and orchestrate communication between containers using Docker Swarm and write Docker files to create custom container images for use in Docker environments;
• Implementing CI/CD concepts and set up pipelines to deploy applications on Kubernetes;
• Writing YAML manifests that define the desired state of Kubernetes resources, such as deployments, services, and config maps;
• Writing infrastructure as a code using tools such as Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of GCP resources;
• Programming/scripting language like Python, Ruby, Bash, and to write code to automate infrastructure and application management;
• Configuring the networking for the Kubernetes cluster which includes setting up a Kubernetes Service Network, defining IP ranges, and configuring DNS;
• Build artifacts (JAR, WAR & EAR) using continuous integration tools and create pom.xml in Apache Maven and run the builds using Continuous Integration tool Jenkins;
• Writing Ansible playbooks from scratch in YAML which includes installing, setting up & troubleshooting Ansible, create and automate platform environment setup; and
• Create quality gates in SonarQube dashboard and enforced in the pipelines to fail the builds when conditions not met.
