TITLE: Residential Appraiser Team Leader

DEPARTMENT: Tax Assessors, Lowndes County

LOCATION: 300 N. Patterson St.

SALARY RANGE: $ 44,337.08 annually

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for locating and appraising residential property in order to assist with the development of the county tax digest. Assists in the supervision and direction of personnel assigned to the residential appraisal team. Analyzes field data to determine uniformity within the county. Represents the Lowndes County Board of Assessors during Board of Equalization, Hearing officer, arbitration, and Superior Court hearings on appeals of subject properties. Assists with compiling and analyzing sales ratio studies; conducts market research to determine updates of CAMA system.

MINIMUM TRAINING: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school diploma/GED. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Appraiser I designation from the Georgia Department of Revenue and ability to obtain an appraiser II within a year preferred.
