Job Summary:

Loyal Source is looking for skilled and dedicated Medical Technologists to join our team at the Fort Harrison VA. The positions require performing a wide variety of manual and automated procedures, including moderate and complex analysis, at the Fort Harrison VA Medical Center. The role includes performing duties in various laboratory specialties and requires a high level of independent judgment and responsibility. This is a notional opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results.
• Conduct testing procedures on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated techniques.
• Monitor quality control systems and measures.
• Collaborate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Provide education for laboratory and other healthcare professionals and the public.

Scope of Work:

The Medical Technologist will perform work in:

• Chemistry (including endocrinology and toxicology)
• Coagulation
• Hematology
• Immunology
• Immunohematology
• Blood Gases
• Urinalysis
• Microbiology
• Phlebotomy

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Board of Certification or Board of Registry, American Medical Technologists, or American Association of Bioanalytic.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory science or a related science.
• At least one year of clinical laboratory experience.

Working Hours:

VA Business Hours: Monday to Sunday.

• Day Shifts: 0600 to 1430, 0700 to 1530, 0800 to 1630.
• Evening Shifts:1200 to 2030, 1400 to 2130, 1400 to 2230.
• Night Shifts: 2000 to 0630, 2200 to 0630.

Contract Information:

Start Date: TBD

Contract Length:12-month base contract with one 12-month option.

Compensation:

$34-38/hr plus $4.93/hr Health & Welfare (H&W)
