Position Summary: Reporting to the Chef-Manager / Unit Manager, this position provides support and leadership in planning, producing, managing and executing excellence in our catered events. Provides leadership for professional and service staff to ensure high-quality catering standards are successfully implemented to create memorable guest experiences.
Position Highlights:
1. With Assistance from the management team, plans and develops event concepts, formulates service methodology and cost for catered events.
2. Coordinates services, rentals (tables, chairs, and linens), decor (flowers, etc),
3. Manages, supervises and coordinates catering staff
4, Oversees the implementation of company policy; ensures that policies are being carried out and recommends changes and revisions to policies and procedures.
5. Manages the planning, preparation, production and delivery of catered events in compliance with established policies and procedures.
6. Fosters, enhances and maintains excellent professional relationships with clients. Actively sells catered events and products by establishing relationships within the building. Responsible for creating extraordinary experiences for customers.
7. Responsible for assisting in administrative duties including payroll, inventory, invoices reconciliation, ordering, etc.
8. Manages Catering systems software and billing processes and provides sales summary reports as required.
9. May perform other duties as assigned such as working a station (grill, deli, entree saladbar, cashier etc)
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivelent and two years of previous hospitality and/or catering management experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Required Skills
Ability to utilize exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with clients. Strong leadership, oral and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills, preferably in Microsoft
Ability to effectively supervise and train a diverse work staff.
Ability to work flexible and demanding hours. Most hours are 6am-2:30pm, however there are times a night time or after hours catering event may be necessary
Required Licenses or Certifications
ServSafe Certified and Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
Sustained standing; frequent bending. Moves, lifts and carries supplies, equipment, and materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance from floor to waist height and 20 pounds to shoulder height. Carries supplies up or down stairs if necessary.
