Job Title: Accounting Controller

We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting for our rapidly growing cloud real estate brokerage firm. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably in the real estate industry. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance & Accounting located in Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, and month-end/year-end close processes.

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the organization.

• Prepare detailed financial reporting packages and analysis for executive management and investors.

• Manage cash flow forecasting and oversee banking relationships.

• Manage and comply with various tax filing requirements and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.

• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes and use of financial software/ERP tools.

• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing leadership and professional development opportunities.

• Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, integrity and excellence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred

• 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience; real estate industry exposure strongly preferred

• Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, procedures and regulatory requirements

• Advanced skills in financial reporting and financial analysis

• Hands-on experience with accounting software/ERP systems

• High degree of professionalism, integrity and commitment to accuracy

• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in the ability to motivate and grow an accounting team

• Excellent communication skills to report financial data to executive stakeholders

• Change management champion, ambitious self-starter with ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
