Offering services for women's health, hormone therapy, men's health, weight management, dermatology, veterinary services, pediatrics, and more we understand that one size, one plan, one way, does not fit all when creating treatment plans, medications, and wellness programs. The Compounding Technician:

In the realm of pharmacy, there exists a specialized group of professionals whose craft blends the precision of science with the creativity of art – compounding technician. These highly skilled individuals play a vital role in healthcare by being the foundation that pharmacists depend on. Collaborating closely with pharmacists, providers, and patients alike, compounding technicians are essential in providing quality and diverse specialized medical interventions meticulously crafted to address unique patient needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with patients and providers to help accurately input and interpret compound prescriptions.
  • Compounding of sterile injections, ophthalmic, oral liquids, topical agents, capsules, tablets, and more; following propriety formulations that are not commercially available.
  • Routinely check for outdated or soon-to-be expired chemicals and products.
  • Ensure the compounding lab is cleaned and maintained according to the pharmacy SOPs.
  • Compound all compounded medications, ensuring adherence to USP 795/797/800 standards, pharmacy SOPs, and any applicable state pharmacy regulations governing non-sterile and sterile compounding.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the compounding pharmacy profession, actively participating in Continuing Education and in-service education opportunities to continuously enhance your expertise.
  • Ensure the delivery of top-quality professional services by maintaining the highest standards within our pharmacy team.
  • Foster and model a safe, patient-centered environment.
  • Foster a positive team environment that promotes teamwork and trust.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent. PTCB certification and state license, both active and in good standing. 3 years of pharmacy experience. Sterile compounding experience is a plus.

Language Skills:

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, consumers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume. Ability to calculate and convert compounding formulas to assess standard deviation within the acceptable limit. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Certificates and Licenses:

Active PTCB certification and state license issued by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, both in good standing.
