Under supervision of the Department of Information Technology Web Group Manager, the incumbent will support and advance the university's web services. This position involves responding to web service requests, providing first-level technical support, maintaining detailed documentation of web service procedures, and aiding in the roll-out of new web-based initiatives. 20% - Initial processing of service requests received by the web service team. This involves assessing the nature of each request, determining the appropriate course of action, and either handling it directly or reassigning it to the relevant team member. This duty is crucial for ensuring efficient and effective response times to service needs.
20% - First-level support for web service systems, including the web servers, web content management system, Microsoft 365, and the emergency communications solution. Following training, the individual will be equipped to troubleshoot common issues, offer user guidance, and escalate complex problems to higher-level support when necessary. This role is pivotal in maintaining the operational integrity and user satisfaction of our web services.
20% - Creation and maintenance of training materials and documentation in our knowledge base. This includes developing user guides, FAQs, and process documentation to support the web group and its stakeholders. The aim is to enhance knowledge sharing, improve system usability, and streamline support processes.
35% - Support the execution of web group initiatives by assisting with specific tasks as directed by web group members. This includes contributing to technical aspects of projects, such as content creation, review, documentation, or content updates, as well as providing support for the practical implementation of new features or services. The role is designed to support the technical progress of projects, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and contributing to the team’s overall goals.
5% - Other duties as assigned
