The Role

The Scrum Master plays a meaningful role in delivering high-quality modern solutions software as part of a cross-functional agile scrum team. This role will be accountable for acting as a servant leader to the scrum team, acting to surface and resolve team-level sprint risks and roadblocks while facilitating scrum ceremonies. This role will also act as a change agent, evangelizing the tents of agile and scrum across Global Functions Technology.

Responsibilities

Act as a Change Agent with a passion for supporting teams to transform their behaviors toward an agile environment

Facilitate Scrum processes and events enabling team maturity

Create an agile mindset with focus on agile value and principles leading with transparency, inspection, and adaptation resulting in delivery of high value increments which meet the Definition of Done

Leverage performance data to drive outcomes with a continuous improvement mindset

Enable teams through servant leadership skills to develop sprint goals, robust product backlogs, and acceptance criteria

Participate in program level agile ceremonies to include dependency mapping, release planning and scope alignment across Product teams representing your scrum team(s)

Ensure risk and compliance goals are met through enablement of high code quality, robust backlogs and reduction of technical debt

Enable the removal of impediments to the Scrum Team’s progress

Facilitate communication and partnership inside and outside the team to include stakeholder engagement

Protect the team from distractions allowing for focus to meet sprint and program commitments

Promote self-organization and cross-functionality of the team coaching each role to enable high performance of the team

Support training, and coach the team in its agile adoption

Qualifications

Mindset consistent with Scrum core values: openness, courage, respect, focus and commitment

Demonstrated understanding of lean agile values and principles including the 3-5-3 structure of scrum

4 years working in an agile environment as a development team member, Scrum Master

3 years' experience in the Scrum Master role of distributed Agile team, tech domain preferred

Expert in facilitation, problem solving and influencing outcomes

Strong knowledge of best practices in value driven development (requirements management, prototyping, hypothesis driven development, usability testing)

Demonstrated knowledge of common practices to manage risk from risk identification through mitigation and monitoring

Expert knowledge of agile tool suites including Atlassian, Agility Health Radar, MS Teams or similar agile management tooling

Scrum Master and Agile Certifications

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large-scale enterprise agile transformation with knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other scaling frameworks

Strong knowledge of technical engineering best practices including test driven development, continuous integration, DevOps.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
