LTS is Hiring a Project Manager Near Montgomery, AL

LTS is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our team at Gunter Annex located in Montgomery, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support in alignment with ABMS requirements. This includes designing, engineering, surveying, installing, implementing, configuring, testing, and integrating network solutions for highly complex requirements within the Air Force Information Network (AFIN). The advisor will also support tactical deployable communications assets and Standardized Tactical Entry Point (STEP) Sites within the Department of Defense (DoD) Teleport System.

The Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) is the U.S. Air Force’s latest effort to create a next-generation command and control (C2) system. ABMS proposes using cloud environments and new communications methods to allow Air Force and Space Force systems to share data seamlessly using artificial intelligence to enable faster decision making ABMS a secure communications network that allows commanders and warfighters to share meaningful data from the field faster.

This position requires an active TS/SCI and significant travel, up to 40%, depending on the project.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Plan, schedule, control, execute, and close projects, or segments of a project, to ensure delivered solutions meet customer/project requirements.
  • Initiate contact with key project stakeholders within upon assignment and acquire documentation necessary for drafting/coordinating Project Support such as Agreements or Memoranda of Agreement/Understanding
  • Establish and maintain project folders, ensuring that all project documentation is accurate, current, and complete.
  • Review customer/project requirements for clarity and communicate with the customer to resolve any ambiguities.
  • Analyze implementation strategies to identify potential issues/risks to the proposed schedule and develop/recommend viable plans to mitigate those issues/risks. Ensure project implementation schedules are not adversely impacted and the quality of work accomplished remains acceptable.
  • Document and prioritize emergent risks and recommend realistic and programmatically acceptable courses of action to ensure projects meet continue to mission objectives.
  • Identify, track, and coordinate install activities with project stakeholders.
  • As required, assist sites/bases with scheduling and processing Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) request packages.
  • Provide weekly timeline/schedule status of implementation/installation efforts, either through attendance at weekly meetings, or via responses to Government inquires.
  • Prepare and maintain an MS Project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for each base/site that reflects all tasks required to complete the project, including Government dependencies.
  • Create an IMS where all tasks (non-summary) have a predecessor and successor that will create a critical path that includes all contract deliverables, project meetings, milestones, reviews, base configuration timelines, permits, status of applicable AF/DoD Forms, quality assurance (QA) inspections, and other tasks or events requested by the Government.
  • Provide in-briefs and out-briefs to base/site personnel as required for on-site visits.
  • Develop documentation that captures the full range of technical implementation activities from initial tasking to concept development, solution engineering, implementation, and project closeout.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet customer feasibility, thoroughness, security, reliability and maintainability, cost effectiveness, and timeliness requirements.
  • Collaborate and build Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) based on the timeline provided in the Performance of Work Statement (PWS).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 5 years of experience. Additional years of experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Active TS with SCI eligibility.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% based on project needs.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain at least an Associate Level commercial project management certification (Project Management Institute (PMI) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), CompTIA Project , or equivalent) within six (6) months of starting work and maintain currency thereafter.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of project management experience prior to starting work. Proof of compliance shall be provided upon request
