What You'll Do:
As an Engineering Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, managing, leading, and driving an engineering staff in the execution & completion of departmental goals/objectives. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. This individual will work across all functions in operations, R&D, and QA to ensure operational targets are met along with new product/process development initiatives. This position will help identify continuous improvement opportunities to eliminate “waste” within the operations.
What We're Looking For:
  • Prioritize Safety and Quality over all other requirements. Help meet Company and Plant objectives, in a collaborative manner.
  • Manages and supports a team of engineers in day-to-day activities to meet site and company objectives. Provides direction, guidance, & support for their team.
  • Provides engineering direction for quality initiatives, production problem solving, and VIP’s.
  • Partners with production to ensure project continuity and production’s needs are met.
  • Support and improve production processes, working to optimize changeovers, with Production Planning and other cross-functional teams.
  • Works closely with manufacturing cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to the manufacturing process.
  • Leads cross functional and multi-site teams to achieve strategic project goals.
  • Proven ability to execute project management tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting utilizing technical knowledge & theory.
  • Understanding of thermo-plastic extrusion process, assembly & general manufacturing processes.
  • Responsible to ensure new programs are fully vetted and ready for manufacturing.
  • Help improve efficiency, sustainability, working with teams.
  • Do cost estimations for new products, working with customer service, engineering team and other departments as required.
  • Responsible to ensure new programs are fully vetted and ready for manufacturing.
  • Develop leading edge, validated repeatable cost-effective thermoplastic extrusion manufacturing processing technology to proprietary advantage.
  • Identify value improvement opportunities for cost savings and scrap reduction in the form of engineered manufacturing and technical process improvements.
  • Develop technology roadmap of best-in-class facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for the application, maintenance, and preservation of Lubrizol design standards and proprietary technology in the design of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Develop standard & robust new product development processes.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technology in the thermoplastic and medical device manufacturing.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and application of a customer tool care program which cares for and upgrades tooling to minimize secondary processing costs and prevent delivery interruptions.
  • Accountable for the annual capital expenditure plan for manufacturing, development, and process engineering.
  • Responsible for process engineering support to assist manufacturing in the resolution of manufacturing processing problems enabling on time shipment of product to the customer.
  • Participate on the Corona Senior Leadership Team.
  • Advocate to uphold Lubrizol policies, pillars, and cultural beliefs.
Skills That Make a Difference:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Biomedical engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5 years relative experience in the medical device industry.
  • 5 years leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, problem solving techniques and/or other data-driven skill sets.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet delivery dates in a fast-paced customer manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Train engineering staff to new product and process implementation (SME).
  • Mentors & leads staff.
  • Support, specify, and justify new equipment.
  • Leadership role and interface with internal & external customers.
