Lucas James Talent Partners is Hiring a Senior Financial Operations Analyst Near Rochester, NY

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst—operations is responsible for accurately stating the Rochester brewery's financial performance and working with the management team to improve it. The analyst must also be able to construct, monitor, and relay actual results vs. budget results to help the management team understand their financial objectives and outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assistance in creating, tracking, monitoring and reporting on the annual Operations cost budget.
  • Work with the Operations team to explain budget variances and help identify corrective action to mitigate unfavorableness. Analyze results to provide Management with summary detail on overall Brewery performance through the use of monthly report cards.
  • Partner with all facets of the brewery to provide financial support including budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial needs of operations.
  • Forecast and report conversion cost performance across all manufacturing departments on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with plant manger and department leads to help explain large variances to OB/MYR budgets.
  • Improve and update the current packaging capacity planning forecasting model based on new demand forecasts (S&OP).
  • Improve and update the annual budget process (including MYR).
  • Assist in developing all components of standards costs, including allocation of overheads.
  • Support the analysis of COGS monthly operational results and variance analytics with the Ops Finance team (specifically looking at department labor and non-ingredient expenses).
  • Support in the creation and revision of yearly gainsharing levels and metrics. Track and report Gainsharing results on a quarterly basis.
  • Support CapEx business case builds to ensure future investments meet financial guidelines.
  • Financial analysis support as needed for the Plant manager, OPS Department managers, Dir. of Planning and Dir. of Operations Finance.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Translate operations budgets and forecasts into input requirements for FIFCO USA long range financial planning model as required by FIFCO USA CFO.
  • Improve and update the current packaging capacity planning forecasting model based on new demand forecasts (S&OP).
  • Leadership role in collecting capital project input required to build Capital Expenditure long-range plans, annual budgets and forecasts and quarterly reviews with FIFCO USA CFO.
  • Support reporting improvements for tracking of open purchase orders and management of maintenance expenses and production supplies.
  • Support improvements required to migrate spare parts and supplies balances from expense to inventory accounting treatment.
  • Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree with a Finance concentration is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably process manufacturing) is required.
  • Knowledge of or exposure to operations accounting is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • ERP conversion project experience is desirable.
