Job Summary The EDI Analyst works with both internal and external partners to facilitate the exchange of data between different sources to meet required technical, operational, and business needs. Serves as a subject matter expert and provides analytical support to the EDI Team and all users of the data within the EDI interfaces. Essential Functions Work with internal and/or external partners to identify business requirements for exchanging data via an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process. Identify, gather, translate and document the business requirements for EDI processes in a concise and organized manner to facilitate development and communication between involved partners. Perform analysis of data to ensure it conforms to the requirements and meets the needs of the EDI Process and the business products that it supports. Work closely with developers and business owners and act as a liaison to ensure that EDI requirements are comprehensive and mutually understood. Perform testing of the data and the EDI Processes and be able to clearly communicate issues with the appropriate business partners and/or the developers to initiate solutions. Perform analysis and work with additional resources, as required, to appropriately respond to data-related questions or issues from internal and external sources. Prepare audience appropriate documentation of EDI Interfaces, as requested. Work with development and management staff to calculate estimates for upcoming or proposed future projects, based on experience, and anticipated effort. Demonstrate an understanding of the data on EDI Interfaces in internal and external project collaborations. Work to expand the overall effectiveness and cohesiveness of the EDI Department. Adhere to Lucet's Mission Statement, Core Values, Code of Business Conduct, and Compliance Program. Comply with all Federal and applicable State laws and Lucet Policies regarding, privacy, confidentiality, and security of health information, and other designated information. Job Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field, Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar academic discipline is preferred. Experience considered in lieu of degree Minimum 4 years of experience in EDI, Data Analysis and Testing. Healthcare claims and managed care experience is highly preferred. SQL Query Experience Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Experience doing data mapping and documenting business and technical requirements. Experience working with X12 formats preferred. Preferred Knowledge of the Medical Insurance, Claims, or Behavioral health Industries Effective organizational and prioritization skills Experience communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Ability to learn new systems and continually update technical skills to adapt to changing technology Basic data-gathering skills including coding (SQL), testing, debugging, and documentation Knowledge of common database architectures and how to extract and transform complex datasets Key Competencies Strong analytic and problem solving skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment Ability to follow direction to achieve desired results Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and drive solutions Working Conditions Work is performed indoors in a home office environment- not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Frequent exposure to VDT screen and computer. Physical demands include constant ability to remain in a stationary position, move about inside an office or remote setting, able to communicate and exchange information with others, able to inspect information, and able to perform repetitive motion with arms and fingers. Mental demands include constant ability to interpret data, problem solve, make decisions, and organize and plan. Salary and Other Compensation: The starting salary that Lucet reasonably expects to pay for this position ranges from $70,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills, education/degrees, certifications, prior experience, market data, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of Lucet's incentive plan based on both company performance and individual performance.
