Luke’s Lobster Seafood Company Seeks Production Leads

Our seafood processing facility in Saco, Maine is looking to grow and develop the Production team for our upcoming Lobster Season in May.

Luke's Lobster Seafood Company was founded in 2012 to meet our growing restaurant group’s - Luke's Lobster - increasing demand for the highest quality seafood. As such, we are the primary supplier of traceable, sustainable seafood for all Luke's Lobster shacks while also supplying product to the highest-rated seafood restaurants, wholesalers, and markets worldwide. We are a SQF Level 3 food safety certified seafood-company and recently became the highest scoring B Corp restaurant group and seafood company in North America.

This is a Lead level position within the Production team, primarily responsible for training and directing their designated production team. The ideal candidate will work well with a team, be highly motivated, and have some experience in either Seafood and/or Manufacturing. As a member of the Production team, this role reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Potential Areas of Focus:

  • Production Lead - Responsible for supporting Production Supervisors in carrying out their duties by setting an example for team members with regard to attendance, hygiene, professionalism and meeting production goals per Luke's Lobster standard operating procedures. The goal for this lead position is to cross train throughout various departments in order to better assist facility and production needs by providing supportive leadership as needs arise. Flexibility and the desire to learn multiple production areas is a must.

General Job Duties:

  • Serve as hands-on support throughout production day
  • Assist in training new and existing teammates
  • Give real-time direction to teammates
  • Bring observations or concerns regarding staffing or process to Production Supervisor / Assistant Supervisor
  • Ensure Standard Work policies and procedures are upheld
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized workspace
  • Complete required logs/paperwork for Quality Assurance department
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with fellow Leads, Assistant Supervisors and Supervisors

Skills and Competencies:

  • Problem solving skills
  • Professionalism, respect, attendance, and hygiene
  • Team Player attitude
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and comfort lifting 30lbs
  • Adaptability to varying climates (RTE room = chilly)
  • Bilingual abilities preferred (Spanish, French, Khmer, Portuguese, French)
  • Ability to handle shellfish / tolerate exposure to shellfish allergen

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Seafood and/or Production Preferred
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • Food Safety a plus
  • LEAN experience a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
