Lumbermen's is Hiring a Production Associate Near Center, MI
Position SummaryLocated at our Byron Center location, the person in this position would install glass and door bottoms, package doors and complete other value-add processess to doors being cut by the CNC. These associates are responsible for the timeliness, accuracy and completion of these daily operations. Day-to-day responsibilites include:
- Living Out Lumbermen’s Culture – Leading in and modeling Lumbermen’s core values while creating an atmosphere where Lumbermen’s is ‘first choice’ of our customers.
- Detail Oriented - Unloading incoming freight, verifying product against enclosed packing lists, sorting material by end destination and putting away excess stock.
- Equipment Usage - Using fork trucks and order picking equipment.
- Loading Products - Loading outbound transfer trucks.
- Preparing Orders - Accurately pulling customer orders and preparing material for shipment
- Safety - Securing and labeling products for delivery
- Process - Transferring picked orders to staging area for delivery per the delivery schedule.
- Open Communication - Assisting in cleaning and maintenance of warehouse.
- Teamwork - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor
This position offers a $250 annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.
Required Education/Experience
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Prior woodworking would be considered a plus; router,mitersaws and table saws.
- Prior cabinet manufacturing or trim carpentry work would be considered a plus.
- Knowledge of exterior doors would be considered a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication skills
- Safe working practices
- Natural detail-orientation
- Ability to accurately read orders and stage material to internal customer needs
- Desrie to "do things right the first time"
- Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 75lbs.
- Ability to stand for 8 - 10 hours/day
