Job Details

Position Title: Senior Operations SOGR Required Skillsets: The Senior Program Manager, Operations State of Good Repair (SOGR) is responsible for program management, project oversight, process improvements, and governance within the Service, Delivery & Operations Network Operations department for multiple State of Good Repair safety and operational efficiency projects. This role is part of the Rail Network SOGR improvement program. The Operations Program Management position will address project management, procurement, budget, and logistics for the delivery of ground support equipment, including emergency needs. Note that this role does not involve software development. The position requires strong project management knowledge, practices, processes, and controls to achieve project objectives by planning and evaluating multi-project activities with indirect guidance from senior-level managers and directors. The role demands regular and accurate budget forecast management, as well as analytical and metrics-based reporting to stakeholders. Excellent business acumen and operational analysis skills are necessary to ensure the timely and cost-effective implementation of SOGR projects and performance reporting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Demonstrate strong and effective program management, utilizing industry best practices to ensure timely delivery of results.
  • Develop and maintain required project artifacts in accordance with Project Management standards and applicable regulations.
  • Provide timely financial performance and forecasting reports, working closely with business and financial project managers.
  • Establish collaborative partnerships to facilitate rapid scoping, financial, and resource decisions.
  • Implement appropriate project governance structures and processes, evaluate risks, and establish mitigation plans.
  • Identify and implement improvements to drive operational efficiencies and cost reductions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced degree in Project Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work, training, and education.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively respond to complex information.
  • Ability to manage coordination and execution at both high and detailed levels across multiple teams and projects.
  • 12 years of significant hands-on program and project management experience from project initiation to implementation, using formal project management methodologies and processes.
  • Expertise with project management, procurement, and finance system interactions such as MS Project, Ariba on Demand, and SAP.
  • Must have work authorization in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with or for host railroads.
  • Transportation industry experience is a plus.
