Job Title: Glass & Glazing Estimator

Location: Fort Lauderdale Area, Florida

Job Description:

In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to generate precise estimates from the planning phase through to the project bidding stage. Required skills include:

• Proficiency in reading and analyzing construction blueprints (plans, specifications).
• Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs using plans, specifications, or conceptual information.
• Capability to review, interpret, and estimate the scope of assigned work as detailed in project documents.
• Experience in utilizing and managing in-house historical cost data to enhance estimate accuracy. Apply costs and rates as provided by the Director of Estimating.
• Requesting, organizing, and negotiating vendor quotations to ensure they align with contract documents.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Evaluating changes in scope according to updated bid documents.
• Assisting Project Managers with change order estimates.
• Collaborating with team members effectively.
• Participating in value engineering reviews.
• Engaging in the negotiation of construction cost estimates with various parties.

Requirements:

• At least five years of experience in curtainwall, storefront, window wall estimating, and/or project management for complex vertical construction projects.
• A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Prior experience with high acuity healthcare facilities, high-rise hospitals, hospitality, hotels, and commercial high-rises is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), Internet, and email.
• High level of integrity and commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Knowledge of Procore, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Adobe, and Bluebeam; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
