Permitting Manager | Energy | San Jose, CA

My client, a prominent player in the energy sector, are seeking a skilled and motivated Permitting Manager to join their team. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in navigating the complex landscape of permits and regulations governing my client's projects and will ensure their energy projects meet safety standards before then obtaining the necessary permits needed to proceed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of permitting strategies for various energy projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project plans and specifications to identify potential regulatory issues.
  • Stay abreast of changes in environmental regulations and zoning laws that may impact project timelines or requirements.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, environmental impact assessments, and other regulatory documents.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to address regulatory challenges and mitigate risks.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, advocating for our interests while maintaining compliance.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in permitting and regulatory compliance within the energy industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to energy development, environmental protection, and land use.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and identify compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience working with renewable energy projects is a plus.

Qualifications:
